1. MC34072DR2G Substitution Conclusion
Not a direct substitute. While the package is compatible and it offers a wider supply voltage range and stronger output drive capability, there are significant gaps in key dynamic performance and precision parameters. Its slew rate (13 V/µs) is substantially lower than the original part's (200 V/µs), which will cause severe distortion when processing high-speed, large-signal waveforms. Furthermore, its input offset voltage (1 mV) is 5 times higher, and its input bias current (100 nA) is also 5 times larger than the original (200 µV and 20 nA, respectively). This will lead to a significant reduction in DC accuracy, introducing non-negligible errors in high-gain or high-impedance signal conditioning applications. Additionally, its quiescent current (~3.8 mA) is far greater than the original's (0.5 mA), making it unsuitable for low-power designs. Substitution may only be considered in non-critical circuits with extremely relaxed requirements for speed, precision, and power consumption.

Essentially not a viable substitute. Its primary specifications are comprehensively inferior to the original part, with an especially vast disparity in core dynamic performance. Its slew rate (0.3 V/µs) is less than 0.2% of the original's (200 V/µs), rendering it completely incapable of tracking rapidly changing signals. Its gain-bandwidth product (1.1 MHz) is also only one-third of the original's (3 MHz), limiting the usable bandwidth. Moreover, its input offset voltage (3 mV) is 15 times higher than the original's (200 µV), which disqualifies it from any application requiring DC precision. Although its quiescent current is in the same order of magnitude and it offers stronger output drive, the extremely low speed and poor accuracy confine its use to simple signal interfacing or comparator-type applications where speed is irrelevant and errors are tolerable. It cannot serve as a substitute for a high-performance operational amplifier.
