1. LMH6655MAX/NOPB Substitution Conclusion The LMH6655 can serve as a direct replacement for the AD8056 in many general-purpose applications, but it exhibits significant deficiencies in key high-speed performance parameters. The primary differences lie in slew rate (200 V/µs vs. 1400 V/µs) and bandwidth (260 MHz gain-bandwidth product vs. 300 MHz -3dB bandwidth). Consequently, the LMH6655 is considerably weaker than the AD8056 in handling high-speed, large-signal waveforms and is unsuitable for the original design's intended applications such as high-speed pulse or video amplification. Its advantages include a doubled output current capability (120mA) and a wider minimum supply voltage (4.5V). This enables it to drive heavier capacitive or resistive loads and makes it more suitable for lower-voltage supply systems. Substitution is viable if the circuit does not demand high signal speed but requires stronger drive capability.
2. OPA2889IDR Substitution Conclusion The OPA2889IDR is completely unsuitable as a replacement for the AD8056 in terms of core high-speed performance. However, it presents a fundamentally different option for ultra-low-power applications. Its slew rate (250 V/µs) and bandwidth (75 MHz gain-bandwidth product) are far lower than those of the original part, disqualifying it for any high-speed, high-bandwidth signal processing scenario. Its most prominent feature is an extremely low quiescent current (0.92mA per channel vs. 10mA total for the AD8056). In battery-powered or power-sensitive devices, the OPA2889 can significantly extend operational life or reduce thermal dissipation, but this comes at the cost of sacrificing all speed performance. It cannot be considered a substitute unless the design objective is fundamentally shifted from "high performance" to "low power consumption."
