1. LM2902PW Substitution Conclusion
The LM2902PW is a direct functional and footprint replacement for the original BA10324AFV-E2, as both are quad general-purpose op-amps in a 14-pin SSOP package with pin-to-pin compatibility. However, critical performance differences must be evaluated. The LM2902PW offers a higher gain bandwidth product (1.2 MHz) and slew rate (0.5 V/µs) compared to the original (500 kHz, 0.2 V/µs), providing better high-frequency signal processing capability. Its supply voltage rating (26 V max) is lower than the original’s (32 V max), which may preclude its use if the existing circuit operates near the upper supply limit. Additionally, its quiescent current (1.4 mA per quad channel) is slightly higher than the original’s (600 µA per quad channel), a consideration for power-sensitive designs. In summary, the LM2902PW can be substituted in applications where the supply voltage is within its range and ultra-low power consumption is not critical.
2. LM2902PWRG4 Substitution Conclusion
The LM2902PWRG4 is electrically and mechanically identical to the LM2902PW (the suffix G4 denotes TI’s environmental and packaging designation). Therefore, the substitution conclusion is the same: it offers direct pin compatibility and improved dynamic response due to higher bandwidth and slew rate. However, the reduced supply voltage range (max 26 V) may limit its use in higher-voltage applications, and the higher quiescent current should be considered in power-sensitive designs. If the original circuit operates below 26 V and can tolerate slightly higher power consumption, this device can replace the original. It is still recommended to verify temperature drift performance in the actual circuit, as offset voltage drift parameters are not provided for comparison with the original part.
