1. LMV722M Substitution Conclusion The LMV722M can serve as a direct drop-in replacement for the MCP6285 in terms of supply voltage range (2.2V–5.5V) and package (8-SOIC). However, several key parameters differ substantially: its input bias current (260nA vs. 1pA) is orders of magnitude higher, which may introduce significant error in high-impedance source or precision integrator circuits; quiescent current (2.01mA vs. 450μA) is roughly 4.5 times greater, making it less suitable for battery-powered systems. On the other hand, the LMV722M offers higher bandwidth (10MHz vs. 5MHz) and slew rate (5.25V/µs vs. 2.5V/µs), making it better suited for higher-speed applications. Substitution is feasible if the application is not sensitive to input current and power consumption, and requires greater bandwidth.
2. LMV358MX Substitution Conclusion The LMV358MX offers advantages over the original part in package (8-SOIC) and output current capability (160mA vs. 25mA). However, its minimum operating voltage is higher (2.7V vs. 2.2V), limiting its use in ultra-low-voltage applications. Bandwidth (1MHz vs. 5MHz) and slew rate (1V/µs vs. 2.5V/µs) are notably lower, resulting in slower dynamic response and making it unsuitable for high-frequency or fast-signal processing. Although its input bias current (15nA vs. 1pA) is lower than that of the LMV722M, it remains significantly higher than the original part. Substitution may be considered only for mid-to-low frequency, non-precision signal conditioning applications with a supply voltage ≥2.7V.
