1. 7203SYZQE Substitution Conclusion
Under the premise that electrical functionality, mounting dimensions, and sealing characteristics are fundamentally consistent, the 7203SYZQE can serve as a derated substitute for the MTA206P, suitable for applications where stringent electrical life is not a critical requirement. The key differences lie in the current rating (AC 5A vs. 6A), electrical endurance (40,000 cycles vs. 60,000 cycles), and actuator plating (chrome vs. nickel). Post-substitution, the switch will exhibit reduced current margin under AC load, along with lower long-term reliability and mechanical life. Additionally, there will be slight variations in appearance and corrosion resistance. However, the solder lug terminal type remains identical, allowing for direct drop-in replacement.
2. 7203SYCQE Substitution Conclusion
The 7203SYCQE is not a viable direct substitute for the MTA206P due to terminal type incompatibility. While their core electrical parameters (DPDT, On-Off-On, 5A/120V) and panel mounting dimensions (6.35mm hole, 1/4-40 thread) are highly similar, a critical discrepancy exists in the termination method: the 7203SYCQE utilizes PC pin terminals, whereas the original part number features solder lug terminals. Substitution would necessitate a change from panel wire soldering to PCB soldering, involving a completely different board layout and assembly process. Consequently, direct replacement is not feasible at the physical interconnection level.
