1. AD8606ARZ-REEL Substitution Conclusion
The AD8606ARZ-REEL can be directly substituted for the TS1872AIDT in terms of package compatibility (8-SOIC) and basic functionality (dual rail-to-rail output). However, several key differences must be evaluated: the AD8606 employs a CMOS process, offering significantly improved accuracy (input bias current 1 pA vs. 70 nA, offset voltage 80 µV vs. 1 mV) and dynamic performance (bandwidth 10 MHz vs. 1.8 MHz, slew rate 5 V/µs vs. 0.6 V/µs) compared to the original part. These advantages come at the cost of a reduced supply voltage range (2.7–5.5 V vs. 1.8–6 V) and doubled quiescent current (1 mA per channel vs. 500 µA). If the system supply voltage exceeds 2.7 V and the higher power consumption is acceptable, the AD8606 can substantially enhance signal accuracy and bandwidth, making it suitable for sensor amplification, precision measurement, and similar applications. Substitution is not recommended, however, if operation below 2.7 V or extremely low power consumption is required.
2. AD8606ARZ-REEL7 Substitution Conclusion
The AD8606ARZ-REEL7 is the same silicon die as the AD8606ARZ-REEL, differing only in packaging (REEL7 typically denotes a 2500-unit reel). Their electrical parameters are identical; therefore, the substitution feasibility conclusion remains the same. While the part offers package and functional compatibility with the advantages of high accuracy and wide bandwidth, the supply voltage range and power consumption differences require careful review. Substitution is seamless and performance-enhancing if the application can operate above 2.7 V and is not sensitive to the increased current draw. If the original design relies on the 1.8–2.7 V low-voltage supply or has stringent current constraints, substitution is not viable.
