Original Part
Alternative Part
1. LM2904VDMR2G Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. Although the package and supply voltage range are compatible, and the gain bandwidth product (1 MHz) exceeds that of the original part (800 kHz), key DC parameters are significantly degraded: the input offset voltage (7 mV) is 2.3 times higher than the original (3 mV), and the input bias current (45 nA) is 2.25 times higher than the original (20 nA). In applications demanding DC accuracy—such as sensor signal conditioning or low-side current sensing—this will lead to substantially increased system error. Moreover, its quiescent current (1.5 mA per channel) is triple that of the original part (500 µA per channel), which is unacceptable for battery-powered or low-power designs. These discrepancies make it unsuitable as a replacement for the Original Part in precision- or power-sensitive applications.
2. LM358DMR2G Substitution Conclusion
This device can serve as a substitute in most general-purpose applications and offers some performance improvements. Package, supply voltage range, and output current capability are fully compatible. Differences include: a gain bandwidth product (1 MHz) superior to the original (800 kHz), providing slightly better AC response; an input offset voltage (2 mV) better than the original (3 mV), which benefits DC accuracy; however, the input bias current (45 nA) is higher than the original (20 nA) and may introduce slightly greater error in applications with very high source impedance. Quiescent current (800 µA per channel) is about 60 % higher than the original (500 µA per channel), requiring evaluation in extremely power‑sensitive designs. Overall, it represents a viable alternative with comparable performance and some parameter advantages.
