1. LM2904DT Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not viable. The LM2904DT exhibits significant deficiencies in key precision and dynamic performance parameters compared to the OP213ESZ. Its input offset voltage (2 mV) is 20 times higher than that of the OP213ESZ (100 µV), introducing substantially greater error in DC or low-frequency amplification applications and severely degrading system accuracy. Its gain-bandwidth product (700 kHz) and slew rate (0.6 V/µs) are only approximately one-fifth and one-half of the OP213ESZ's specifications, respectively, leading to a marked reduction in signal processing speed and large-signal frequency response capability. Furthermore, its output is single-ended rather than rail-to-rail, limiting the output dynamic range and preventing full utilization of the supply voltage. The LM2904DT is suitable only for applications with minimal requirements for precision, bandwidth, and output swing, and cannot meet the design requirements intended for the original part.
2. LM358DT Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not recommended; however, its use may be evaluated in specific scenarios. The LM358DT shares core limitations similar to the LM2904DT: a very high input offset voltage (2 mV), insufficient bandwidth (1.1 MHz) and slew rate (0.6 V/µs), and a non-rail-to-rail output stage. These characteristics preclude its use as a replacement for the OP213ESZ in circuits demanding high precision, fast signal processing, or wide output swing. Its unique value lies in its AEC-Q100 automotive-grade qualification. If the original application is for automotive electronics or requires a high reliability grade, and if the aforementioned performance shortcomings are not critical—for instance, in circuits processing switching signals or in integrators with very low precision requirements—the LM358DT could be evaluated as a high-reliability, downgraded alternative. Strict circuit validation remains essential in such cases.
