The key difference is that TI's CDB variant increases the maximum data rate from 120 kbps to 250 kbps. Under the same hardware connection, this provides a higher baud rate ceiling, enhancing the system's potential data throughput. This constitutes a performance upgrade. Furthermore, the more relaxed timing requirements at lower speeds will provide greater timing margin in existing designs, thereby improving reliability.
