1. LM258D Substitution Conclusion
The LM258D is not a viable direct replacement for the LT1457S8. The key differences are its high input bias current of 20nA (vs. 7pA for the LT1457), input offset voltage of 3mV (vs. 220µV), and its architecture as a general-purpose standard op-amp rather than a J-FET type. These characteristics make it severely inadequate for high-precision applications requiring high input impedance, low input current, and low offset. Furthermore, its slew rate (0.3V/µs) is significantly lower than the LT1457’s (4V/µs), resulting in weaker dynamic response. However, the LM258D offers lower power consumption and a wider minimum supply voltage (3V). It could serve as a functional substitute only in applications with very low bandwidth and extremely relaxed input precision requirements, provided that system error and frequency response are re-evaluated.
2. TL032ID Substitution Conclusion
The TL032ID shows potential as a conditional replacement for the LT1457S8, subject to application-specific validation. As a J-FET amplifier, it features a superior input bias current (2pA) and a slightly higher slew rate (5.1V/µs), making it suitable for similar high-impedance signal conditioning scenarios. However, its input offset voltage (570µV) is about 2.6 times that of the LT1457, which may introduce additional error in applications with stringent DC accuracy requirements. Additionally, its supply voltage range (10–30V) is slightly narrower than the original part (9–36V). If the application is not sensitive to offset voltage and operates within the compatible supply range, the TL032ID can be considered as a lower-power (434µA per channel) alternative. Otherwise, circuit calibration or device screening would be necessary to ensure precision.
