1. TL082ACD Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not feasible. The TL082ACD is a JFET-input operational amplifier featuring extremely low input bias current (30 pA), making it suitable for high-impedance sensing applications. However, its input offset voltage (3 mV) is two orders of magnitude higher than that of the original part (70 µV), resulting in significantly degraded DC accuracy. Additionally, its output is not rail-to-rail, limiting dynamic range in low-voltage single-supply systems. Moreover, its quiescent current (1.4 mA per channel) is substantially higher than that of the LT2178 (16 µA per channel), increasing power dissipation by nearly two orders of magnitude. While its bandwidth (3 MHz) and slew rate (13 V/µs) are higher, the TL082ACD fails to meet the original part’s key advantages: micropower operation, high precision, and rail-to-rail output.
