1. OP249GSZ Substitution Conclusion
Overall feasible, though critical parameter boundaries must be considered. The OP249GSZ, like the original LT1169, is a JFET-input dual operational amplifier from ADI and is pin-compatible, making it the primary candidate for a direct replacement. Key differences are as follows: the input bias current of the OP249GSZ (30 pA) is slightly higher than that of the original part (4 pA), which may introduce marginally greater error in ultra-high impedance or low-level current sensing applications; its maximum supply voltage (36V) is lower than the original's 40V, making direct substitution unsuitable if the original circuit operates between 36V and 40V. Conversely, its slew rate (22V/µs) is significantly higher and its output current capability (36mA) is greater, offering superior performance in large-signal dynamic response and load driving. Substitution is viable and may even provide performance benefits in applications where the operating voltage does not exceed 36V and the slight increase in input bias current is acceptable.
2. MC4558CDT Substitution Conclusion
Largely not feasible and suitable only for non-critical applications with minimal requirements. The MC4558CDT is a general-purpose bipolar-input dual op-amp. Its input stage technology fundamentally differs from the original JFET type, resulting in substantial gaps in key parameters: its input bias current is as high as 50 nA (12,500 times that of the LT1169), and its input offset voltage is also higher at 1 mV. It is entirely unsuitable for circuits requiring high input impedance, low input current, or high DC precision, such as sensor interfaces, integrators, or sample-and-hold circuits. Its slew rate (2.2V/µs) is low, limiting large-signal bandwidth. Although its supply voltage range is compatible and its power consumption is lower, the severe degradation in core input characteristics would fundamentally alter circuit performance if directly substituted. It should only be considered if the original circuit is extremely insensitive to input error and impedance, such as in certain audio filtering or low-precision comparator applications.
