1. LMH6550MAX/NOPB Substitution Conclusion
The LMH6550MAX/NOPB is not a suitable direct replacement for the LT1818IS8TRPBF. While both are voltage-feedback operational amplifiers in compatible packages, there are critical differences in their core performance and intended applications.
First, the LMH6550's input offset voltage (1mV) is significantly higher than that of the LT1818 (200µV). This would introduce substantial error in applications demanding high DC precision, such as precision sensor amplification.
Second, the LMH6550's minimum operating voltage (4.5V) is higher than the LT1818's (2.5V). This prevents its use in lower single-supply systems (e.g., 3.3V or 5V single-rail), limiting its power supply compatibility.
Finally, the LMH6550 is characterized as a differential-output amplifier. Its internal architecture is typically optimized for driving differential loads, such as high-speed ADCs. This creates an interface design incompatibility with the conventional voltage output of the LT1818.
Substitution could only be considered in high-speed driving scenarios where high DC precision is not required, the supply voltage is sufficiently high, and a differential output is specifically needed. For most general-purpose high-speed amplification circuits, this replacement is not viable.
