1. OPA703NA/250 Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. The OPA703NA/250 exhibits significant deviations from the original LT1800CS5 in key dynamic performance parameters: its gain-bandwidth product is only 1 MHz (vs. 70 MHz for the LT1800), and its slew rate is merely 0.6 V/µs (vs. 23 V/µs for the LT1800). Consequently, the OPA703NA cannot handle high-frequency or fast-changing signals and is suitable only for DC or very low-frequency applications. Additionally, its output current capability (10 mA) is only half that of the LT1800, resulting in notably insufficient drive strength. Its minimum operating voltage of 4 V (compared to the LT1800’s capability down to 2.3 V) further restricts compatibility in low-voltage applications. Although its input bias current (1 pA) and offset voltage (160 µV) are far superior to those of the LT1800—making it suitable for high-precision DC measurements—the overall performance profiles are fundamentally different. The OPA703NA is a low-power precision op-amp, whereas the LT1800 is a high-speed amplifier. Direct replacement would cause high-speed circuit functions to fail.
2. OPA703NA/3K Substitution Conclusion
Similarly, direct substitution is not advised. The OPA703NA/3K shares identical electrical specifications with the OPA703NA/250, differing only in packaging quantity (/3K denotes a 3000-unit tape-and-reel package). Its technical discrepancies with the LT1800, and the resulting implications, are the same as described above: the extremely low bandwidth and slew rate cannot meet high-speed signal processing requirements, and the output current and voltage ranges are strictly limited. If the original circuit was designed around the LT1800’s high-speed characteristics—such as for video amplification, ADC driving, or high-speed filtering—the system will not function properly after substitution. Replacement may only be considered if the application involves solely DC or ultra-low-frequency precision amplification and the supply voltage exceeds 4 V, but a full reassessment of circuit stability and load drive capability is mandatory.
