1. ALD2704SAL Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not feasible. While both devices share the same package and are dual-channel operational amplifiers, the ALD2704SAL exhibits a generational performance gap compared to the AD8028ARZ in core specifications. The critical differences are as follows: First, bandwidth and slew rate (2.1 MHz / 5 V/µs vs. 190 MHz / 100 V/µs). This means the ALD2704SAL is entirely incapable of processing high-frequency or fast transient signals, leading to severe distortion in applications where the original part is suitable, such as video or high-speed data acquisition. Second, supply voltage range (6.5-10V vs. 2.7-12V). The ALD2704SAL cannot operate at lower single-supply voltages, such as in 3.3V or 5V systems. Third, input offset voltage (5 mV vs. 200 µV). In DC or precision amplification applications, the ALD2704SAL introduces a significantly larger initial error, severely degrading accuracy. It is only suitable for applications with extremely low demands for speed, precision, and supply voltage flexibility and cannot serve as a general-purpose replacement for the AD8028ARZ.
2. ALD2704BSAL Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is similarly not viable. While the ALD2704BSAL offers improved offset voltage (2 mV) over the SAL version, the fundamental performance chasm with the original AD8028ARZ remains unchanged. Its bandwidth and slew rate (2.1 MHz / 5 V/µs) are still nearly two orders of magnitude lower than those of the original part (190 MHz / 100 V/µs). This fundamentally disqualifies it from any high-speed signal processing task. Concurrently, its narrow supply range (6.5-10V) prevents compatibility with wide-voltage or low-voltage application scenarios. Although its lower offset voltage may suit some medium-precision DC applications, such as interfacing with CMOS high-impedance sensors, replacing the AD8028ARZ with it would result in a complete loss of system high-speed performance. It is also not a viable substitute for the AD8028ARZ.
