1. DG271BDY-E3 Substitution Conclusion
The DG271BDY-E3 is not a viable direct substitute for the ADG201HSKRZ-REEL, primarily due to incompatible key electrical parameters and associated potential risks. The core differences are as follows:
First, the supply voltage range. The ADG201 supports a wide range of single-supply (10.8V to 16.5V) and dual-supply (±13.5V to ±16.5V) operation. In contrast, the DG271 is only specified for a typical dual-supply of ±15V, with no clear indication of single-supply support. This could result in failure to operate correctly in an original single-supply design.
Second, switching speed. The DG271's switching time (65ns) is 30% slower than the ADG201's (50ns). This may impact system timing performance in high-speed switching applications.
Third, charge injection polarity. The ADG201 specifies +10pC, while the DG271 specifies -5pC. The opposite polarity and different magnitude could introduce unpredictable DC offset errors in precision sample-and-hold circuits or high-accuracy signal paths.
Fourth, on-resistance matching. The ADG201 explicitly specifies channel-to-channel matching (ΔRon 1.5Ω), a parameter not provided for the DG271. This could introduce gain errors in multi-channel applications requiring consistent performance.
Although the DG271 offers slight advantages in crosstalk (-100dB) and off-capacitance (8pF), the critical differences outlined above preclude its use as a direct replacement. Its use could only be considered after thorough re-evaluation and testing, and only in applications strictly limited to ±15V dual-supply operation where switching speed and charge injection polarity are not sensitive factors.
