1. TL072CDT Substitution Conclusion
From a core performance perspective, the TL072CDT has significant limitations as a direct replacement for the AD8512BRZ-REEL. The TL072 features a lower gain-bandwidth product (4 MHz vs. 8 MHz) and a slower slew rate (16 V/µs vs. 20 V/µs), which will degrade high-frequency signal processing capability and transient response speed. Its input offset voltage (3 mV vs. 80 µV) is nearly 40 times higher, introducing non-negligible DC error and making it unsuitable for high-precision amplification or DC-sensitive circuits. However, the TL072 offers slightly better input bias current (20 pA vs. 25 pA), a wider supply range (6-36 V), and lower quiescent current (1.4 mA vs. 2.2 mA per channel). It also carries AEC-Q100 automotive-grade qualification. For applications with relaxed bandwidth and precision requirements, but where low power consumption, wide supply voltage, or automotive environment compatibility are needed, the TL072 can serve as a cost-effective alternative, provided system error and frequency response are re-evaluated.
2. LF253DT Substitution Conclusion
The substitution feasibility of the LF253DT is highly similar to that of the TL072CDT, but with a key distinction. Both share comparable bandwidth, slew rate, and offset voltage specifications, which are significantly inferior to those of the AD8512. Consequently, the LF253DT is likewise unsuitable for applications demanding high precision and fast response. The LF253DT does not specify automotive-grade certification, potentially disqualifying it for use in reliability-critical automotive or industrial environments. For general industrial or consumer applications requiring basic JFET op-amp functionality with tolerance for lower performance, the LF253DT can be considered a low-cost alternative. However, designers must account for the precision loss and bandwidth limitation due to its offset voltage, and must verify system stability in the design.
