Philips
Philips, originally known as Philips Gloeilampenfabrieken, was a pioneering force in the semiconductor industry. The Dutch multinational founded its semiconductor division in 1953, contributing significantly to early transistor and integrated circuit development. Philips Semiconductors became a major global player, known for innovations in areas such as power management, RF technology, and mixed-signal ICs. In 2006, the division was spun off as an independent company named NXP Semiconductors, marking the end of Philips' direct involvement in semiconductor manufacturing. Today, NXP continues this legacy while Philips focuses on health technology and consumer well-being, having left an indelible mark on electronics history through decades of technological advancement.
